This dark orange fruit has loose, slightly bumpy skin that practically peels itself! Satsumas are usually seedless, though one many contain a few cream-colored seeds. They are named for the Satsuma province on the island of Kyushu at the very southwestern tip of Japan.
Introduced to the United States in the 18th century, Satsumas are cultivated in Florida and southern Georgia. And now, they are available as an amazing gift for you to send to friends and family during the holidays.
Satsumas are available in November and December. They cannot be sent to Texas, Arizona, Louisiana, California or Canada.
